So. I'm cooking a frozen pizza to celebrate. . .I actually went out somewhere. And met people. And I'm going back next week. To meet more people. It's just a weekly women's meeting at the Center, but, hey, I WENT SOMEWHERE. Usually you can't pry me from my house after dark, well, just 'cause. And I realized it was actually a good thing, because I got to see some Xmas lights. I'm not decorating.
And now it's late and I'm starving because all I had to eat today was some fudge and a packet of dark M&M's. Yeah. Healthy. That's why I stopped at the store and got some corn and bananas and cheese and tortillas and bread so I can at least pretend to eat healthy.
But, it was also a zoo day.
First, I missed the Southern bush pig in my piggy round-up last week. So, here they are. Also, one thing I learned from one of the tours is that forest-dwelling animals are often orange, like this pig and the red river hogs and a variety of deer. It's because orange actually blends in better with the green forest. One antelope (I don't remember which) has a male with dark brown fur, which stands out, but it's to show the females how strong he is by saying "look at me, I'm a walking target for carnivores!"

And here's a treat; usually I can't see the porcupine at all because the glare on this exhibit is extremely bad, but he was right up next to the glass today. There's also a baby porcupine in the nursery, but pictures of him don't turn out.

And just 'cause I really like sable antelope, here's one with a funny look on his face.

These are lesser kudu. They have the greater kudus at the Wild Animal Park. Anyway, I just thought this shot looked rather romantic. They're hard to get good pics of because they're really shy and always hide at the back of the exhibit against the wall and they blend in really well. There's a month-old baby in there somewhere, but I haven't seen it.

And this is just to prove that I went to Disneyland yesterday like I said I would. Glad I went. It does actually "snow" around the park after the fireworks go off. "Snow" actually being condensed bits of soap bubbles. I expected paper--which would be horrible for the workers to have to clean up every night. The fireworks were cool, and I ended up watching them from Small World by accident, and I'm glad I did. They put all kinds of colored lights on Small World (and none of the pics turned out; all blurry) and during the fireworks they turn out the lights and put animated videos on the building. It's neat.

So that's my dose of Christmas. And I'm not going home after all. Yaaay. A. won't be in Phoenix on the right day, so it's enough to cancel the whole trip, bwa ha ha ha. Someone come over so I don't cook turkey for just me and the kitties, okay?
