Taking an ice cream break from working on my excerpt for deadline. My crit partners are going to kill me. It's rather on the long side.

Went to the zoo yesterday (sans camera, so sorry, no pics this week) and stayed just long enough to track down a stuffed lizard in celebration of the acceptance of the lizard story. (Which I really really need a name for, so I can send off all the paperwork . . .) and I did fill out a couple applications for jobs there. One's a student intern, one's driving the guided tour bus, both of which would be fun, but seem somewhat unlikely since I don't have a science background, so we'll see.

The stuffed lizard is just about perfect. He's green and white and has sparklies on him, and his feet are done in a sort of tie-dye rainbow fabric, and we all know what rainbows represent, right? And I have to find (or take) a decent pic of me (or something that represents me) to send with the paperwork. I don't like any of the pics I can use, and the one pic I like was taken by a pro and I don't have permission to fling that out on the web, and I'm not inclined to track down the guy to get it. I suppose I could just take a pic of the aforementioned lizard . . .

Anyway. Ice cream is done (Hooray for cookies and cream!) so it's back to finishing the one scene I'm having trouble with, and then it's done and out it goes to torment the mentor and crit partners.

It may not be a huge issue if you want to keep STRAY as the title, but...

No, not terribly attached. Just can't think of anything better at the moment, and I generally like to name things when they're done. I saw that book mentioned elsewhere, too.

I didn't think you were too attached, but I couldn't remember. :)

Did you get your hook in on time for that contest?

Nah, I didn't. I have to write a hook for the lizard story which is hard enough, and I think Orossy's a bit dark for the fangs-fur-fey thing.
